  1. In Romania, we save sorici. What is “sorici”? Well, after we kill the pig, we burn him until his skin turns black. Then we use an iron brush to clear the ash and the burned hair. Then we wash the pig until is white again(but this time, hairless). Then we rip his skin off, piece by piece and eat it with salt (and sometimes onion) and is very good.

  2. Here in Mexico we don’t eat pozole for Christmas. That’s most commonly for Independence Day (15th September). On the other hand, we do cook stuffed turkey, romeritos, bacalao, salad and other things for Christmas.

  3. Ok couldn’t find the Czech Republic soo our typical Christmas dinner is fish soup and then usually fried carp and potato salad or you can also have schnitzel if you don’t eat fish

  4. As a Brit, I must ask, do any of your local specialities look like a real sloppy job? Because the British roast dinner depicted here is not only small, it has less variety of vegetables and none of them are cooked with attention. I see not one honey and garlic roast carrot, no olive oil and bacon bits tossed amongst the Brussel Sprouts, the roast potatoes are an utter failure and I would never serve that cremated sausage to my parents. Not if I want to inherit anything, anyway.

  5. Singular of “tamales” is “tamal”, not “tamale”, also, pozole is not that traditional in xmas as it is at independence day, more traditional dishes are Basque style cod, romeritos (a herb stewed with mole and shrimp cakes), pork leg and turkey. At least those are more traditional in central Mexico, it varies from region to region.
